just wanted to say i am thoroughly enjoying your podcast! and please tell preston he is a GREAT host...so genuine, nice, and fun. he has a knack for it. it's fun to listen to the three of you together, and i regularly find myself laughing out loud as i listen. although i know you guys have a plan going into it and already know what you'll say to some degree, it never sounds rehearsed or like you're reading from anything (something that has slightly frustrated me with another new but popular home design/diy podcast! but that's beside the point). you give great, practical tips and it's just fun to hear some behind the scenes stuff. keep it up!!
For a future podcast, I'd love to hear about how to handle updating things when they are "decent" but not your preference. It's almost easier to renovate a house that is really bad - the cost is worth it and it's obviously dated. I have a bigger difficulty changing things when they are okay. For example, our house has stained wood trim that's not horrible, but I generally prefer white trim. Or the kitchen layout and cabinets are okay, but I rather it be moved to take advantage of the dining space to provide better flow and put in lower drawers rather than cabinets. However, moving it is a much larger expense than leaving it it place and just making finish updates. Also changes to things that are decent, may mean you don't get as much out of your change when you eventually sell the house. How do you decide whether it's "worth it?"

Even though this wasn't a super home decor themed episode, I really enjoyed it. We're not big party throwers but I was feeling little inspired. I might actually have to do some homework this weekend.
