7 Spooky Eats For Your Halloween Party

October 1, 2023

We are planning to host a big Halloween party this year, and Chris will be overseeing the menu. Now, normally, he sticks to cooking exclusively dairy-free, gluten-free, and whole foods as much as possible, but Halloween is the perfect time to have a little fun with your food. In other words, this isn't your typical "Chris Cooks" recipe segment. We recently had a big shoot for a Halloween campaign, and we went all out with the spooky food, noteworthy of sharing with you. So, if you're planning to throw a big Halloween bash this year or need some ideas of what you could bring to one, keep scrolling for some Halloween party food ideas.

Our #1 party-throwing tip when it comes to food is to serve finger foods! There’s nothing like balancing a paper plate on your lap while you struggle to get bites in your mouth (especially for your masked guests!), so keep your menu simple and mobile.

1. Mummy Hot Dogs

First up, we've got the oh-so-classic mummy dogs. Wrap hot dogs with strips of crescent roll dough and bake them until golden. If you want to go the extra mile, you can add edible eye candies and serve them with a side of mustard for dipping.

2. Witch Guacamole Dip

We had so much fun with this witch-themed guacamole dip! Recipe inspo found here. As you can see, we used blue corn tortilla chips to shape the hat and bell peppers, olives, and limes for the facial features. I think the carrot top wart is my favorite piece, though.

3. Spider Pizza Bites

Another crowd favorite is to serve bagel pizza bites topped with olives to look like spiders. Recipe inspo.

4. Candy Corn Mix

This time of year, I cannot get enough of Chris's candy corn mix, but if you don't like candy corn, you can swap in some M&M's.

5. Skeleton Veggie Platter

Every party needs a veggie platter, and this skeleton tray is exactly what every Halloween party needs. Inspired by this recipe, we used sliced cucumbers for the spine, bell peppers for the ribs, ranch dip for the head, and celery for the limbs.

6. Witches Fingers

We took “finger foods” to the next level and served up some witch fingers, AKA breadsticks with slivered almonds as fingernails, inspired by this recipe.

7. Candy Apples

Lastly, don't forget some vibrant red candy apples. They look as if they've been poured into a cauldron of poison or something equally evil.

Tablecloth | Black Gauze

And there you have it! I hope at least one of these makes it to your upcoming Halloween party this spooky season.
